Hybrid Powers Lexus to Record Levels

Almost one in every three new Lexus models sold in the UK are hybrids, according to latest figures from Lexus GB. Motorists are making a considered choice to opt for the unmatched combination of lower emissions, fuel efficiency and performance offered by Lexus Hybrid Drive technology, helping push sales to record levels.

By October 2008, the RX 400h was Lexus’s best selling model in Europe, representing a 24 per cent share of European sales volumes, while in Britain 80 per cent of RX sales are of the hybrid version. The GS 450h executive sports saloon also outsells its conventionally powered sister model and the new LS 600h flagship limousine goes on sale this month with an advance order book filled for the next six months.

As well as marking important advances in the performance of hybrid models, September 2007 was an all-round record-breaking month for Lexus in the UK. The 3,381 new car sales set a new benchmark for a single month, and market share for the month was also higher than ever before, thanks to volume growth of almost 24 per cent compared to 2006.
